The course

Breath, devotion and understanding

A 50-hour, seven-day immersion in pranayama and Bhakti Yoga. You practise the classical breathing techniques with their bandhas, kumbhaka and mudras, and you live the devotional side of yoga every day through puja, kirtan, satsang, mantra and sound healing.

You explore the psychological, neurological, physiological and energetic influences of pranayama, with practical corrections, scientific explanations and traditional yogic philosophy.

An immersive journey integrating advanced pranayama, teaching knowledge, self-observation and devotional practices.

140years of practice

Phool Chatti Ashram sits where the Ganga leaves the hills, about 15 km upstream of Rishikesh. What you hear in the morning is the river and the birds. For over 140 years it has been a place of practice, carried by a lineage of swamis. It is a working ashram, not a resort: modern facilities, but the day follows the ashram rhythm.

Rooms

Simple guest rooms

Simple, comfortable ashram rooms are available in shared or private formats, with attached bathrooms. Bedding and towels are provided.

Food

Three sattvic meals

Three sattvic meals are served each day, giving you regular nourishment throughout the training while keeping the rhythm of the day light and uncomplicated.

Ashram

The ashram

A riverside ashram in the Himalayan foothills, surrounded by forest and the Ganga. It offers a quieter setting where practice, study and rest can become the rhythm of the week.

Ayurveda

Ayurvedic massage

Ayurvedic massage is available on request, giving residential students an opportunity to slow down and take care of the body alongside their practice.

Library

The ashram library

A quiet space for reading and reflection, with books and traditional teachings to explore between sessions.

Ganga

Rituals & Kīrtan

Āratī, kīrtan and other evening rituals are part of the wider ashram environment, giving residential students a chance to experience yoga beyond the training sessions.
