Definition

What is a specialised yoga teacher training?

A specialised teacher training gives you the time and structure to study one subject deeply.

Instead of moving between many subjects, you stay with one practice throughout the week: learning its foundations, practising with guidance, understanding its theory, and developing the ability to share it with others.

These trainings are especially suited to yoga teachers and practitioners who want to deepen an existing practice, add a new skill after a TTC, or continue their studies in a specific area of yoga.

Phool Chatti Ashram sits where the Ganga leaves the hills, about 15 km upstream of Rishikesh. What you hear in the morning is the river and the birds. For over 140 years it has been a place of practice, carried by a lineage of swamis. It is a working ashram, not a resort: modern facilities, but the day follows the ashram rhythm.

Simple, comfortable ashram rooms are available in shared or private formats, with attached bathrooms. Bedding and towels are provided.

Food

Three sattvic meals

Three sattvic meals are served each day, giving you regular nourishment throughout the training while keeping the rhythm of the day light and uncomplicated.

Depth

Why study one subject deeply?

A week with one practice gives you repetition, correction and questions in a way a single class cannot.

You are not trying to cover everything. You are giving one subject your full attention — practising it, understanding it and learning how to share it with others.

Whether you are continuing after a TTC, developing a new teaching skill or simply wanting to understand one practice more deeply, a specialised training gives you the time to stay with it.
